Assured In-Home Care has every caregiver sign a Camera/Picture Agreement when hired, whether you have video surveillance cameras in your home or not. As a result, the caregivers understand they may be on camera while on the job in a client’s home and agree to being taped while working.
We are a proponent of installing video cameras to record what is happening in your home when you can’t be there. By simply informing the caregiver they are being recorded and having their consent to do so, it provides an added sense of security.
There are many different types, sizes and prices for cameras, with one made to fit almost any budget. Many camera systems today allow you to log on and watch remotely, even from your smart phone.
Here are some benefits to having video camera surveillance in your home:
** Provides assurance that your loved one is being cared for safely and effectively.
** Confirms you have an honest, well-trained and reliable caregiver.
** Spots things you and your caregiver may need to discuss. For example, perhaps you have an easier way to help your loved one in and out of bed or getting dressed.
** Caregivers feel a more positive connection with families, knowing they are being informed and trusted they are doing a good job.
We believe having cameras is a “win-win” for our clients and their caregivers. We suggest you consider installing one in your home. Please feel free to contact us if you have further questions.
