Carla Turney, Director of Assured In-Home Care’s Orange County office, is a California native who received her BA from the University of San Diego, and her Master’s in Education from the University of Kentucky. Carla cared for her mother who had Alzheimer’s disease for many years and learned a great deal through this journey. It was during this experience that she became a staunch advocate for seniors who can’t speak for themselves and need the utmost ethical care and concern. Now as one of the Directors of Assured In-Home Care, Carla continues to help families provide the services necessary for their ailing loved ones. She has the innate ability to relate to older adults and their families. Prior to home care, Carla worked as a school teacher for 23 years. During that time, she served children of all ages and their families. She had a strong passion to instill a love of learning in her students and to teach them they were not just learning for school, but for life. She felt gratified in the field of teaching, and considers herself lucky once again to embrace the same satisfaction by now helping the senior population. Carla has served on various academic committees, written grants, and has been honored by her coworkers in various aspects of her career. She believes in proactive communication between generations, and as a teacher conducted monthly mini “open houses” to keep the lines of communication between parents and students. These invaluable skills align perfectly with Assured In-Home Care’s mission and values. She lives in Orange County with her husband, Brendan, and two children.
